MSW full form of Master in Social Work, is a 2-year specialized postgraduate course, consisting of macro and micro-aspects of professional social work practices in community, hospitals, schools and other fields of social services.
According to the US Bureau of Labour Statistics, the field of social work is expected to grow by 16% over the next decade, a rate much faster than the other occupations. The median annual salary of social workers is expected to grow by 7% to 3692209.74₹ (USD 47,980) (INR 34,96,969). On the Indian front, as of 2020 there were over 17,800 job opportunities in India.
The brutal second of the Covid-19 pandemic has probably highlighted the severe lack of social workers in India. The social workers are employed in development sectors that are managed by the Welfare department of the Government or NGOs.
Candidates who have completed their graduation in relevant streams, with at least 50% marks from a recognized university. MSW Admission 2021 would be done either on the basis of merit list or entrance exam.
The MSW Syllabus is divided into 4 semesters. The core subjects of the MSW Syllabus are Human Growth and Development, Ideology and Ethics of Social Work, Poverty Reduction, Micro Finance and Micro Enterprises, etc.
