NCC

Introduction

National Cadet Corps is a voluntary organization for schools and college students. NCC trains the Cadets to become responsive individuals, sensitive to the needs of the community. It aims at developing a network of culture characterized by hard work, sincerity of the purpose and the ideals of selfless service with a secular outlook.

The NCC Unit of Harda Degree College was started in year 2008. NCC unit is headed by N.O. Mr. Kapil Dubey. The college has an N.C.C. unit consisting of boys’ unit attached to 36 MP, Khandwa Battalion with strength of 53 cadets.

Enrollment in N.C.C. is done through selection in the first week of August.

National Cadet Corps aims at developing character and comradeship, as well as keenness for service to the nation and capacity for leadership in the youth. It provides military training to the youth and builds a ready reserve which the Armed Forces could easily make use of in times of national emergency. There are a number of incentives that motivates students to become Cadets, besides giving additional merit points. NCC also motivates Cadets to perform to the best of their abilities by offering scholarships, cash awards, prizes, medals, trophies etc.

Aim

To Develop Character, Comradeship, Discipline, Leadership, Secular Outlook, Spirit of Adventure, and Ideals of Selfless Service amongst the Youth of the Country.

To Create a Human Resource of Organized, Trained and Motivated Youth, To Provide Leadership in all Walks of life and be Always Available for the Service of the Nation.

To Provide a Suitable Environment to Motivate the Youth to Take Up a Career in the Armed Forces.

Moto

UNITY AND DISCIPLINE” (EKTA AUR ANUSHASAN)

The need for having motto for the Corps was discussed in the 11th Central Advisory Committee (CAC) meeting held on 11th, Aug. 1978. The final decision for selection of “Unity and Discipline” as motto for the NCC was taken in the 12th CAC meeting held on 12th Oct. 1980.
